Great Italiian AAJ review for JC Styles Jason Campbell Stylles Exhilaration and Other States pours into all his stylistic exuberance, nine songs that highlight superb technique and great communication. At his side act - without ever invading the scene too - Pat Bianchi on Hammond organ, while the scaffolding is entrusted to the rhythmic drummer Lawrence Leathers, which completes a trio of great melodic flexibility and ready to shed its skin in a sudden. This feature is seen in the continuous steps as alluring ballad "Do not Explain" to situations much more lively, see "Tune for Roger," with songs performed at high speed as in the case of "I Can not Help It" to those played with stealthy step, like "It Seems like You're Ready." The guitar mastery of JC Stylles allows the trio to move with extreme ease in the alternation of moods and atmospheres that make the album very enjoyable and intressante, in a way that reserves pleasant surprises until the final corner. The leader has a precise touch, warm tone and great melodic sense, his guitar "speaks" a language easily understandable and comparable, which makes some very beautiful songs - to that effect shall be recorded the excellent "Love for Sale" - and the strong appeal. The only original program, the final "Samba Steps," reiterates the concepts of the trio led by JC Stylles, adding an additional color to the palette of this work.
